Our first long Trip

In October at the beginning of the month, we went to Walt Disney World in Florida. We spent the best week of our lives there and would do it again and again. This was the boys' first plane trip and our first plane ride with children.

I left my wallet at home and did not realize this until we went through security. I almost did not make it on the plane, but had some help and answered some important questions.

We stayed at the Caribbean beach resort and loved the pool, the bus system and the room. It was perfect for our family of five. We went to Hollywood studios the first day we arrived and the boys had a blast. I wish I had more time to write, but now I will work work work to pay off the trip.

This summer was a slowwwww one, but we have been so busy, I have not taken any photos. Since my photography and design have been keeping me busy, it has been difficult to keep up. Here are some photos from recent session I did with the boys.

He started school and is having a rough time when I drop him off, been 2 weeks and he cries still, makes my heart ache.

Jack is growing so fast, went on the potty- 2 times, but no more progress there, not pushing that. He still has his paci and 2 1/2 years and is trying to get rid of his nap- yikes! He is learning colors, ABCs, he sits down more now and reads books along with watching educational shows on tv.

James is 4 now, doing well in school, not napping at ALL. He loves to draw still and loves his toads. We captured toads in out back yard in May and we still have them 4 months later.

A long summer

This has been a looooooong summer. We have been out of school since the middle of May and do not return until the first of September. We have been keeping busy. It is so much fun because this year, all three boys are very active and play play play. Jack got his first black eye, James almost drown in a bucket of ice water and we just went to the dentist and have no cavities- yeah! We have been witnessing some crazy fighting, Jacob has decided he is a biter- yikes, he has bitten jack several times. Jacob is also scared of thunder, just like our little dog, Cleatus. James is now 4, Jack is 2 and a half (no, not potty training yet-ugh!) and Jacob is almost 17 months.

Well Jack was sick for over a week with a bad stomach virus, we think he has lost over 5 lbs now. I had 2 photo shoots and we still managed to have some fun with friends, did not see family, but perhaps next year. There was a fun parade with the neighborhood, which I missed. James had fun driving his jeep all decked out. I got back from my session and picked up poor sick Jack and took him home to rest. Nothing makes me more depressed than seeing my son all sickly and not feeling good at all. I did not take too many photos, I wanted a pic of the entire fam in our shirts, but did not happen. I will try to do better, I promise!

Oh Boy- it's going to be a long summer. I barely have time to keep up with anything these days. Think I am ready for the beach. What's been going on with us- Jacob is talking- saying:
baba, mama, dada, ball, ribbit.
He is down to one nap a day now. Keeping up with his bubbas, he loves the pool, swinging and playing outside. He is attached to his snack trap and carries it everywhere he goes.

We caught two toads and they are now in the back yard in a 10 gallon tank. Jack is napping one day and the next, no nap- ugh! He and James are fighting alot these days over who pours the water from the hose into the baby pool. Meltdown central for James who wakes up in a cranky mood and argues over what he will wear that day. We had out school program, soccer has been great, the Blast team is great and we love our coach Stacey. James started swimming classes at Aquakids on Saturdays and loves it, thanks Gram! I made it to the neighborhood pools two times this year with all three kiddos and had only one near drowning. It is hard to find the time to balance house chores, taking care of the boys, design work and photography, but I try my best.

Lastly, the above pics are from school, the Spring Program. jack was so cute, he did all of the dances and sang. James sang a song about a tutti ta ta- so cute! They both love school, we have to wait before Jacob starts though.

James' 4th Birthday Party

Our first born is almost four years old! Tomorrow, May 12, he will turn 4. I am so proud of the boy he has become. It is hard to believe he came into this world at 7:27 am, four years ago weighing only 8 lbs and 11 oz. Now he is such a sweet and smart boy who can write his own name, count to 20, write almost any letter in the alphabet and he has so much more to learn.

Saturday, we had a party for him at the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas. The grandparents came and almost 20 of his friends were there to run around like crazy with him. He had an airplane cake and airplane cupcakes. He got so many great things for his Birthday. After 2 hours of pure fun with purple balloons and yummy cake, we headed home to open presents and head to bed.

Sunday, (Mother's Day) we went to the Rainforest Cafe where James got to see Cha-Cha and he was soooo excited. We also went to the Disney Store to find some "Bolt" stuff and Build a Bear so James could pick out a frog and call it his own. He had a blast. DH got him a purple Cha-Cha shirt and a purple TCU hat- which he loved the best. Of all his presents, he liked seeing Cha-Cha and the frog you put in water that grow huge!

Jacob's First Haircut, May 8, 2009

We ran to Cool Kuts for kids yesterday to get the two little ones groomed for James' party and for the summer!!!! Jacob loved sitting in the red fire truck car and watched Elmo on t.v. He was so good, did not even cry one bit. Afterwards, we met playgroup at the pool with the spray ground and had a pizza.
James and Jack had so much fun, this summer will be such a blast. James slipped and hit the back of his head and then a few minutes later, he hit his forehead. He cried and cried and cried and I knew he was tired. I leaned over to help him, meanwhile, Jacob was at my feet in the baby pool. My friend told me Jacob was under the water and after that, it was time to pack up and head home!

Easter FUN 2009 Gaylord

On Saturday, we had an egg hunt for some friends at the botanical gardens and DH dressed up as the Easter bunny!

The next day, we headed to church at St. Francis for 9am mass and then over to the Gaylord at 11:00am for a fun brunch, egg hunt and visit with the Easter bunny with my family.

J loved his Easter goodies and so did Jack. When we got home, after naps, we let them go to town on their Easter candy!

Firehouse and Fire Party

Last week's theme was "Fire". We went to Southlake Firestation for a tour and to a party for one of our classmates. It was so much fun! This past week was not fun. We had a huge hail storm with damage to our cars and our roof! Then, I got an eye infection from getting a skin tag removed under my eye. I probably got the infection from my germ bug boys who all have colds and Jacob has an ear infection. So, little sleep and work has kept me a busy girl.

Yesterday I took these photos to document what we do on a typical day. Although this is NOT a typical week. Poor Jack is getting a molar AND has a little chest cold. Jacob, the same and James, just allergies. Me, on the other hand had a simple procedure done to remove a skin tag below my eye and it somehow got infected and swelled up so bad it really prevented me from seeing well. I am on antibiotics now to treat it. James asked if it could be 'pajama day' and I said- "sure."

So here goes our Wednesday in pictures:

My friend, David Chicken came out to record James doing his Jeep test drive around the swingset and sing his A-B-C's. We had an afternoon snack, then mommy ran to get pizza while daddy fixed the new garage toy since I put the elevator part on backwards! I think I did do a pretty good job putting it all together. We did bath, stories and then bed. Sorry, no photos this time.

Jacob is 12 months, I can not believe it and this week has been so crazy busy, I think my arms are going to fall off. My boy has such a sweet personality, although he does tend to bully his big bro, Jack. Today we went to the doc and Jake was a maniac running around in his diaper: playing with the trash can, grabbing my wallet and various items out of my diaper bag, tugging on Dr. Scott's pant leg. He did really well for the shots part. Afterwards, I went by Wolf Camera to discuss some camera issues and lil' Jake was not a happy camper. So, off to the cake place we went. Jake fell asleep and all the way to the Creative Memories bakery, he slept. Then we ran home for a bite to eat and thirty minutes later, we hussled into the car for photo viewing at school. Their pics were so cute, you just have to get "school" photos, even though I am a photographer, I like to get different types of photos of my kids. We did cake photos tonight and Jacob LOVED it. Except when he tried to crawl off the table we had set up, then he got mad.

It is so hard to believe, that one year ago today, my little jakie came into this world. He has grown and filled our hearts with so much love and joy. He fits right in with our family of boys and is so loving and fun to be around. I am so happy to have him in my life and love how I can share every single moment with him.

We go to the doc tomorrow to see how much he has grown and are having the celebration with family this weekend.

Well Jacob, my baby is almost one! He can already walk, almost run now and he can talk too. Kind of. He says "E-I-E-I-O" in the same tone as the song. So when Jack sings his favorite song- Jacob will now mimic him. It is so much fun, need to record it asap. We go to the doctor on Thursday to see how big he has gotten. He is almost sleeping through the night!!!

We are having a small family get together for him this weekend and then a big bash with some friends in July. This past weekend, I went to a photography seminar in Fort Worth and learned so much! I can not wait to get out and shoot shoot shoot. I wish I could do this more, but with three kids and a design job, etc. you get the picture- or you don't..hmmmm.

I keep trying to come up with words to describe how much in love I am with my kids and my hubby and how life is good. It does have its moments, but it is such a blessing to be with my kids all day and watch them grow. They are getting along so well and are having so much fun. This summer is going to be a blast. We plan on doing nothing much except swim lessons. The way is should be- lazy days of summer and I intend to document the entire season.

what's goin on:: Jacob is 11 months old

Time is flying and before I knew it, Jacob turned another month older. The boy can now walk, clap his hands, wave hi and bye, sing "eieio", I swear. He loves to bully Jack and take his paci out of his mouth!

James is drawing letters and fun little people every chance he gets. He plays with his brothers and helps me out around the house. He is learning about time, days of the week and everything he can, the boy is a sponge.

Jack is talking in sentences now saying "fix it", "here it is" and singing Twinkle Twinkle little star. He is not as keen on saying the colors, like James was at his age. He also does not show as much interest in coloring as James did and is these days. He mainly likes to be held, play a little, and be held. Poor boy is a little fussy at times.

We bought a toddler bed, no pics, I am too busy with work, and went to the Stock Show. We had Valentines parties today and that's about it. I just try to get up and take care of these active boys every day- I am pooped!

Jacob is walking!!!!! at 10 months

Jake is a walking boy now. Well, for the most part, he drops to crawl when he gets tired, but he is up and walking to and fro. Poor guy had a cold for 4 weeks, recovered, had ear infections, and got better for 3 days.
THEN, he got more ear infections and another cold. Perhaps it is the up and down of the weather.

Jake and Jack are playing well now, except when Jacob takes Jack's paci. We are having separation anxiety with both lil's- little sleep for mom and dad. Jacob can clap, almost wave hi and bye, getting 3 top teeth finally and still wakes up now 2 times a night- geez people.

I love love love my new camera and it does so well with low lighting indoors. Even though I used a strobe, the photos were magnificent considering it is like a cave in their bathroom. James is 3 and a half, Jack is almost 2 and Jacob is 10 mos. in the photo. They all 3 have a blast in the tub together.

I have been so busy with work and my photography and no sleep, that I almost lost sight of how blessed I am and feel so grateful every day to have such great friends and family around me and to be able to raise my children at home where the heart is! Anyways, I try not to ramble on here, but I think I need to do SOME talking on here and not just show photos....

Just Jack :: HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!

Today is Jack's birthday, he is 2 now. I can not believe how fast he has grown. I rarely recall him being a little tiny baby. Two years ago I had just woken up at 7:00 a.m. with contractions that got stronger and stronger and more close. All of a sudden, I was in the hospital and around 1:45 p.m. he arrived. Although I was 35 weeks, he did so well. Recently he had tubes put in his ears which has helped him tremendously!

Milestones:
Second trip to the dentist, did well
Moved to a big boy bed and to a new room with big bubba
Tubes in his ears first surgery
Started preschool
Knows colors, animals, animal sounds
Wears 12 month pants
Weighs only 21.5 pounds, skinny thing
Uses his utensils pretty well
Slowed down on his eating

He talks and talks and talks. Jack is having issues with nap, will not nap. A little early to give that up, so I will keep trying. Jack is such a joy to have around, so caring and he is so helpful, brings me my shoes, gives Jacob a paci and his bottle. We are so blessed to have 3 such wonderful boys in our lives. I love you Jack, nite nite and kiss, mommy.

I came across this photo of me when I was who knows how old and James last summer just turned 3. We look like twinkies! People always say he looks like his daddy, but not in this photo.

I have neglected my dear blog, whom I am not sure anyone of my friends or family really reads because I hardly get any comments or responses. I have found a new habit though, and it is called facebook. Connecting with old friends has been fun.

Jack has a weird way of saying "balloon" just like James. James used to say "bali", and Jackie says something like "bilian". Poor boys, can't say their fav word at age 2. Jack is speaking so well with the tubes, glad we did it and he is over that bad bad cold he had. Jacob, has thrush in his mouth and a double ear infection! He was sleeping more consistently 11 hours at night, but not now.

A New Year with new Tubes and a Scar

I had a marvelous Christmas this year. I got a very nice new camera diggs from Santa along with a new found love, again for photography. As much as I wanted to put that passion on hold, it has crept up again and keeps growing stronger. I have decided to take the bull by the horns and start working towards a future in photography. It has been my dream since I was a little girl and held my first red canon camera, although all I would do was hold the camera in front of me and take photos of myself. Now it is the other way around, I love taking everyone elses' photos.

I have been so blessed with 3 beautiful boys and a caring and supportive husband. This year we had many gifts spread around the house ans under the tree, but I have relized there is so much more than the material things, it is all about the memories I made. I try to document what I see in case my mind is filled with other things.

Yesterday Jack had his first surgery, tubes in his ears and his adnoids removed. He has had trouble for the past year or so with fluid and constant infections. I truly believe this will help him. As I sit here right now, he is resting. The procedure went well, daddy took him at 6:00 am and he was home by 9:00 am.

With the end of the year, I experienced a minor accident with James which resulted in Papa working his magic and us discovering we have a brave little boy. Now with the start of this new year, Jack has had his first surgery: tubes in his ears. I think with this all said and done it is God's way of telling me to take a break and love everyone around me. I want to change my ways this year. Although 2008 was good, it was not excellent. I read so many stories of different situations where young lives were almost lost. I want to be more considerate of others, caring, ask friends and family how THEY are doing instead of being selfish and only talking about me and what is going on in my life.

So, give everyone you know an extra tight hug tonight.

All in all we had a wonderful Christmas this year celebrating with family here and in OK. J got his space train table, Jack got a farm and Jacob got a fun musical table. Mommy got a new camera and daddy got a weather station. However, James also got 5 stitches! The crazy bot fell at Aunt Eryn's on Christmas Day and had to have Papa stitch him up and got 4 shots in his head. Little man was a trooper though and bounced back when he got back at Eryn's house and wanted to play more with his cousins.

For some reason, this year, Christmas has come so fast. I barely got to do any crafts with the boys and we have not even done our gingerbread house, barely looked at Christmas lights nor done half of the things I wanted to this year. BUT, we are all pretty healthy, resting and doing what we can with 3 kids in the mix. This pas week, Jacob learned to clap his hands, Jack started really talking, using words in phrases and James caught a little cold.

I photographed a birth, such an amazing experience and something I hoe to get in to this next year. I am also trying to get involved with some charities to take photos of children who are ill. We had DH's Christmas Party at the Dallas Aquarium and James loved the shark tank.

We are excited to come downstairs each day to see where "Buddy" the elf has landed.
I got a new camera and am trying to free up space on my computer and HD to handle all of the gigantic photos I will be taking.

We went to the doc today for Jake. Textbook for everything, doing so well. He even eats big people food now, no more mash mash runny stuff.

Boy is he standing on his own now, watch out, next comes traveling feet. I woke up this week and asked myself, how do I take care of 3 boys under 3 and make it work every day? I must have some strength, stamina, love, energy and care in my heart. Oh, and I have a VERY involved DH who comes home every night during the week and cooks dinner, plays with the kids, gives them a bath AND puts them to sleep! Oh how lucky I am and blessed.

We met up with our friends from Childbirth class. Been a long time and the kids have grown so much. It was alot of fun. We also went to a craft fair where J got his face painted as rudolph and was so cute. He did have a major meltdown when we got home, not fun, but he fell alseep fast.

Our little chimmy chum turkey is 9 months. Next week, he goes to the doc for shots, yum. The boy can eat and gum food like there is no tomorrow, and he only has two bottom teeth to boot. He loves ham, cheese, crackers, food, food and food. Oh- and he grabbed some popcorn today out of bubba's bowl- too shay! He is fast on the drawl.
Jacob is the fastest crawler in the wild west, he stands on his own for a bit and is practicing his "ma ma maaaaas" and is " dit dit daddadd daaaaasss" too cute! His favorite thing to do is harass the middle bro. He takes Jack's paci and puts it in HIS mouth, what a bully!

Yesterday we went to the zoo and had a blast, there was no one there and both boys got to feed the little birds, they were screaming with joy and excitement, it was so memorable. I am getting good at taking all 3 out, especially when the weather is nice, I have energy and there are no crowds, it was a good day, 76 degrees in December, strange indeedy.

We went to OK for Thanksgiving this year and the boys had so much fun seeing their cousins from Illinois. We really miss them. Grandma overdid herself and made a delicious turkey dinner with all of the fixin's, which I forgot to photograph! Busy feeding a 9 month old, oh well, at least he enjoyed the grub.

Who knew a few plastic jugs and some rocks and you have entertainment for HOURS!

This year, I decided to do the famous "mall" photos with Santa. I had to have this classic pic for my collection. Last Weds., we headed to the mall for some fun photos. I dressed the boys in their pj's since I did Halloween in pj's, I thought, why not! Jacob was in awe, but did not make a peep, only stared. James was a little shy this time and apparently a little sleepy, look at his face! Jack said "hi" to the jolly old man and sat down. It was the quickest Santa session I had ever been through and the mist relaxing. Too bad I did not get the screaming, crying pic like I wished for!!!! Maybe next time.

An another note, Jack is in a big boy bed!!! We broke down the crib and put the twin bunk with rails in its place. He is doing good so far, tonight is the first night. Jacob is standing for a few seconds now by himself. He is constantly practicing and I know he is trying to catch up with his bubbas!

Turkey day was fabulous, we went to OK to Gram's house and saw DH's sis and her fam. It was small, quaint and quiet! A tiring drive home in one day to DH could work on Friday. Thus, no photos tonight. I am pooped.

Weekends come and go in our house, and this past weekend really flew by even though we did not do much but take photos for the Christmas cards. Saturday we went to a kids prints party and I got their handprints and footprints done for a platter. Then we took photos. I really like the ones we took on Sunday and think Jack was more relaxed too. Very challenging to say the least to get all 3 to look at me and be a little happy. Needless to say, some photoshop work was done on the final selection.

I took Jack to an ENT two weeks ago and then to an allergist, Dr. Fawcett, on Friday. The outcome is he has to get tubes in his ears and his adnoids removed. He has constant fluid in his ears and draining out of his nose. The poor skinny boy has had around 7 ear infections since birth. So, on November 21, we will take him for his surgery to hopefully feel better.

James' story from summer school- age 3 Holly, Joe Bee, Tracey bug and Fred all live in the grass. They like to sing and play the bumblebee game. They like to eat cookies and drink juice. They sleep in the leaves.

The little lad is 3 and a 1/2 today and has grown so much in the past 6 months. He is really saying the darndest things and I keep forgetting to write them down. All 3 boys are getting really close and playing pretty well together.

The boy is now crawling and has discovered the art of traveling on all fours and venturing into new territories! Tonight he heard the bath water at bath time and scooted and did a perfect fast crawl into the doorway and headed over to the tub!

Jacob is almost done with baby food, he has had some tastes of the real stuff and now is giving second thoughts to the bland stuff he was chowing down. Does not like the zwieback toast or carrot wagon wheels, but loves loves loves the UmMums and fruit puffs.

He also pulls up on the gate downstairs and the little train table and can take a few steps!!!!!

Last night he also slept all night w/o waking for a bottle! We have had some teases here and there and he usually makes it until 5 am. But today, he woke p at 8:00 am! He is getting another tooth in on the bottom, so who knows what tonight will bring.

We had so much fun and this year we handed out candy, well Grandma did. She came down to see Jacob for his First Halloween! We had pizza and veggies and then went outside for pics with our neighbors. James and Jack had fun, although I have to say them all seemed very tired, probably the non-stop activities from the month.

That sums up the month of October, we had a BLAST!
Jack as a doctor, hmmmm or as a dog dressed up at school. Jacob was a bumble bee and James, of course the frog.

This past week, Jack has decided that he loves to sing- "E I E I O" from Old Macdonald. He dances to and fro to the sweet song. It is too cute. He also has to get tubes in his ears and his adnoids out. I hope this puts and end to the poor guy's ear and nose troubles.

Pumpkin Carver & Fire Starter

That is what I call the dear hubby. He can start a mean fire and has a pretty quick hand when it comes to pumpkin carving. So far we have done a witch and a silly face. We spent our weekend, despite fevers and crying from Jack over and over, carving pumpkins. Parties on Saturday and church Fall Festivals made me soooo sleepy today. Glenrose, country livin'

The boys made themselves at home immediately and practically tore apart the place,
they really made their mark on the cabin.

Last weekend we went to Glenrose, Texas for some cabin fun and dinosaur adventures. We met with some friends who were roughin' in at the State Park. The cabin was so much fun, we will have to go back with some friends and all stay there. The Prairie House was such a great cabin with so much attention to detail and a little flaire. We had rocking chairs on the porch, a table with checkers, tire swing, hammock, picnic table, campfire circle and our own smoker. There was so much to do, we really did not want to leave our little world we just discovered.

But on Saturday, we went to Dinosaur World and the boys did a fossil dig, played on the playrgound, viewed artifacts in a museum, ate a picnic lunch and strolled around and saw huge replica dinosaurs in a natural environment.

J and I went to the Nash Farm fall roundup on Saturday, it was very nice, everything was FREE, but it was busy busy. They had pony rides, hay rides, animals, cotton pickin' and pumpkin decoratin'. Next year we will go very early and bring the whole clan!

Columbus Day was celebrated by a quick morning visit to the patch. It was quite crowded, so we ventured to the areas where people take photos and then ventured around to the top where we had a snack and snapped some more pics. Overall, it was a great morning, but I am tired today, so back to home it was after Jacob and Jack both fell asleep in the car though.

Halls Pumpkin Farm

Friday night we went to the Hall's Pumpkin Farm, definitely a must do again this season for more photo ops. The boys were dressed in their halloween pjs. James got orange and purple popcorn. Jack ran around in the hay house. There are fun little tractors and big antique tractors. Plenty of pumpkins, hay rides, goats, pics, donkeys, cows and chickens! We even saw a giant bull frog! The highlight of the evening. Jacob even tried a sampling of some pumpkins. I love the Fall!

Saturday was the annual visit to the Pumpkin Patch in Flower Mound. James had a blast picking up pumpkins, riding the train and bouncin' around in the bounce house. Jack was a little unhappy with the pumpkins, but Jacob did real well, put some grass in his mouth, but he had fun.

A busy first day of October we had! We hopped on over to the zoo today and boy was it fun and BEAUTIFUL! I love the zoo, especially when I have such behaved kids and great weather. We came home, some napped and then we went out in the back for some fun in the fort. James and Jack have been playing in their playground clubhouse. Today they did playdough and even Jacob joined them! We ran some errands and came home for bath! fun! fun!

Today, I took some photos of my friend's little ones. They were such sweethearts to work with, esp. the three year old. It fascinates me how he saw everything around him and used his imagination about the things he saw. He was quick to point out the yellow school buses, ducks and squirrels.

I took many photos of them, although it was not the best time for the lighting, I think we got some great shots!

James made a mad face after learning about feelings in school this week and he wanted me to take a picture. He is really into drawing with crayons and wants to put everything on the fridge and for me to take a photo of it! He drew blue and green thumbie, a rocket and showed me a drawing of rockets "being born" and there were colorful frogs and their mommies drawn inside each "circle/aka rocket" shape.

Sea World San Antone

Over the weekend, we did a one-night stay in San Antonio. On Sat., we left at 7:30 am, stopped at the PB Kids outlet and then off to the Children's Museum in New Braunfels. James and Jack both had a blast there! It was our second time to visit the place and it was just as fun this time. Only this year, Jack was able to run around and get into all of the different sections of the museum and even stick a baby bottle in his mouth- yechk! James of course, loved the giant space ship and dressed up in astronaut gear, he was also grabbing all of the space books and telling us he wanted to buy them.

Jacob at 6 months, what a ham! love him to pieces!!!

We spent the night on the Club floor of the Westin La Canterra complete with appetizers and drinks at night and fabuolous breakfast in the morning. We had a rough night as Jack would not go to sleep and he kept everyone up. James was so tired from the days activities that he just crashed in his bed. Jack cried and woke Jacob up, you can imagine the rest. Then at 6:00 am sharp, James falls out of the bed and wakes the entire fam up. So, we all got up, ate, checked out and headed to Sea World.

Sea World was a total blast! This year went much better than two years ago when James was the only kid around, just turned 12 months and he had gotten overheated that day and was sick.
Jay got to feed the dolphins, see some cute poisonous frogs, sharks, sea lions and shamu show.

The highlight though was a James' FIRST ride on a roller coaster, he LOVED it! We got home very late, alomst 10:00 pm and up and adam Monday morning. So, we are still feeling the affects from last weekend's whirlwind trip.

Dear Diary

My goal one of these days is to record hour by hour what goes on during a typical day. It is mostly chaotic around here, but that is the norm these days. No relaxing phone conversations of this end.

here is a mini snippet from today.
Got up at 7:00 am, checked on James and Jack, both awake, pulled Jack out of crib. James went on the potty, then threw a fit about what he wanted to wear for the day.

sidenote: for some reason, I guess from our trip to San Antone, the boys are very tired and cranky.

Jack cried in the hallway in front of Jacob's room and woke him up. So, I go and get Jacob. I opened the gate to the top of the stairs for Jack hoping he would soon walk down the stairs by himself and guess what- HE DID!!!

Jack's first time to go down the stairs by himself. whoo hooo.... we hope it continues so I don't have to make 2 trips in the mornings.

We all went downstairs, gave boys apple juice in sippies and started cereal, fruit, etc. Raced to get Jacob fed. I missed out on breakfast and any juice.

I got everything ready and then we headed to the Founder's Plaza for a surprise for James and Jack. They loved it! You can hear the radio towers and see up close the planes land and take off, quite an experience. Although at this point, J is kind of cranky.

But, he perked up when I told him we were running to Rainforest Cafe for lunch and the mall so I could return some things. Yada Yada, went to eat, Jacob slept through lunch, all 3 fell asleep in the car at 2:00 pm. Arrived home, pulled each one out and had all 3 sleeping peacefully this afternoon.

Chapter 2:

I get to work a little on my computer. Then I wake them up at 4:00 ish, go down, for a quick snack, play a little with blocks, etc. Jack wanders aimlessly througout the house learning how to turn Jacob's swing on and the ceiling fan, etc.

We eat dinner, clean up, go outside.

Daddy does all 3 bath at 7:30, then I put Jacob to sleep in his room.
Stories, etc 8:00, 8:30, 9:00, 10:00- Jack was asleep, James was NOT! So he came into my room to watch the Wiggles, then he goes back to his room, we check on him

11:00 pm- STILL AWAKE! It is a vicious cycle I tell you, the boy has not so good sleep patterns these days.

I am off to sleep land myself.

So, I have finally gone through the photos from our CB group Labor Day party. I will have more posted on Shutterfly, so no worries gang! James got to hold a real frog, his second time to do that and boy, was he a real pro at it. The frog handler James.

These are friends who were in my childbirth class when I was prego with Jay. The other gals have had another round of babies all around the same time we had Jacob. In fact, one little boy is 3 days younger than Jacob! We had a real good time, despite a little incident in the hot tub with James! We will have life jackets on them next summer- sheesh!

4 baby lion cubs were out playing with their mama!

I was given life today! It is my special day, my birthday today. I heard from everyone I care about today and did alot of reflecting. I woke up at 7:00 and went to get my little bug, Jacob. Then talked to my sister on the phone while James came out of his room. I got the 2 oldest boys off to preschool and then headed off to the zoo, yes, I said ZOO! I took Jacob to his first visit to the zoo with just the two of us. He did so well, I think he enjoyed the beautiful day as much as I did and the loved the peaceful sounds.

Andy brought home Babe's Chicken and an ice cream cake-yum! I got some fun gifts from family and this weekend, we will celebrate again in San Antone! Can't wait.

As I gave Jacob his bottle, he fell asleep in my arms and I sat in the rocking chair and breathed in every minute. I think, how blessed we are with such healthy and beautiful boys and I get to spend every minute with them getting to know them. I really enjoy my life and truly love my family.

jack is talking so much more it seems like it happened over night.
He is really communicating with us too and putting words together. He loves to look at books now and play with his brothers. He started preschool and is doing so well. He loves the slide, going outside and the crafts.

His teachers this year:
Ms. Lori and Ms. Margaret say he is such a sweet boy, he does so well at school!

Jack is repeating alot.Starting to get a temper, head butting the floor and throwing down his toys, etc when he gets mad.

Also becoming a picky eater, even with Mac 'n Cheese!

Yesterday we all went to Dr. Scott for a visit. Jack had his 18 month checkup. A few months late. Jacob had his 6 month checkup.

Turns out, poor Jack has a double ear infection. He also is not gaining enough weight and is off the charts for his age so we have to give him an antihistamine that will make him hungry and hopefully eat MORE.

Horsin' Around Last Saturday

Today is a blah day because of hurricane Ike, so I am catching up on on some blog entries. Last Saturday, September 6, James and I went to Ride With Pride for 2 hours of horse riding, chicken watching, cow feeding and goats galore. James at age 3, was so brave and he brushed his horse, named Rex and rode him several times. It was a nice afternoon.

American Airlines Museum

Since the boys love airplanes and have never been on one, I thought we would mosey on over to the museum. I have never been, and was a good time. We saw a neat Omni-type movie, sat in an old airplane. The boys ran around and loved all of the hands-on things to do in there. We will for sure go back with family.

Bedford Splash

The last weekend in August, Labor day, we went to the Bedford Splash. James and Jack both had a blast! The water was not cold at all and it is very shallow. James was so brave and went down the slides by himself and we also went around in the lazy river. Daddy went down the huge toilet bowl slide and boy was he dumped out of there!

Jack did not make it to school on Thursday, his second day because he was not feeling well. Poor boy is teething and fighting some sort of congestion. James went and had a good time, he had a Teddy Bear Picnic and I got to see him in action during circle time when I picked him up. He listens so well and participates too. We are so proud of him. I think Jack will really like school too once he gets better. We hope by Tuesday! James drew a self portrait in purple, of course and really looked like a person, the teachers are amazed.

I am so far behind on everything these days, but made this little scrap page and wanted to post with a photo of Jack. Poor lil guy missed his second day of school today because of his incisors teeth coming in. He is so miserable, we went to art class yesterday and he wanted to be held the entire time and fell asleep on the way there.

What's up with Jack:
He is getting a little temper! Throws down his paci and head buts the ground when he is mad
Holds his own while playing with his bubba
Gets jealous when bubee (aka jacob) gets attention or is held by daddy especially
Still loves keys, remotes.
Going through major separation anxiety or it could be related to his teething
Still very skinny- a twig, wish I had his metabolism

We are beginning to work on colors and puzzles since he is nearing the 24 months mark.

The First Day of

School started today for these boys. This year is Jack's first year!!! I think he is really ready. Although he is going through a bit of separation anxiety, moreso than his elder bubba James did.

We got up around 7:30, hightailed it down the stairs where I fixed up some gogurts and blueberry waffles. James decided to eat only his green gogurt while Jack was munching away on his waffle. Jacob ate some lovely apple granola baby food.

We headed to school in the pimp mobile- aka. my van. I made it on time! Jack was dropped off first and hand over to his teacher, Ms. Lori. He cried and reached for me of course, but I was strong and gave him a kiss and went straight for James' class.

All in all, they had a great day. The color of the month is red and the shape is circle. Jack already used a bear stamp today and made a pretty picture.

The highlight of our trip was going to the space museum. James and Jack LOVED the kids space. James got to go inside a space ship, see what astronauts eat, and so much more. Here are some highlight photos. After we left the museum, we headed to the beach to visit a friend of Andy's. Then we ate dinner with my Aunt Olga and Uncle Mike. The boys were way over tired by then, so dinner was not the most pleasant, to say the least.

Over the weekend, we decided to hop in our car and venture on over to the Space Center in Houston. A good time was had by all, and after a few minor meltdowns at night in the hotel, we made it home and are very sleepy.

We left on Friday and stayed until Sunday. The first stop was Kemah, a fun boardwalk[-type place with fun restaurants and carnival games, music, snow cones and much more to blow your money on! We ate at the Aquarium- very fun!

We are real into the Wiggles again AND space and rockets. So, J decided to paint one and put glow in the dark paint on top. He started it, by painting it PURPLE- his fav color, then I finished. I am so in need of doing art, this month was supposed to be Art in August, but so far I have only managed to do finger painting and this rocket. Soooo, when the boys get bigger, we will focus together on more crafts. yipppee for me! Can't wait!

Fly Me to The Moon

On Saturday, James and I went to AMC Grapevine Mill Odyssey at 12:20 to see Fly Me To The Moon. A 3-D movie about 3 fly boys who hop on the Apollo shuttle and land on the moon. James is real into rockets and jets and space, etc. So this was perfect timing. Although the tickets for the imax movie were $$$ and so was the m&ms and popcorn, etc. I spent almost $40! It was worth it though, James sat there the entire time and no potty breaks either! It was his second real movie in the theaters. ( His first was Wall-E - with daddy a month ago).

Saturday, James and I went to Gymboree Art Class, Jack and daddy went at 9:00 and we went at 10:30. Then we went by our friend's house Kim. The whole gang was in town and were as happy as can be.

Vacation Bible School

James and I went to Vacation bible school all last week. The little ones were in the nursery. I was a crew leader to six 3 & 4 year olds. It was such a tiring week, but we really learned a lot and are so thankful for what we have. The people were so awesome and the theme was Power Lab, science. Getting up at 6:30 am to be in Grapevine by 8:45 got challenging to say the least. I did have to leave early by Tuesday, at around 11:30 to get home for lunch and naps. We all took naps every day.

I think James had a really good time, we did crafts, played games, watched movies and sang and danced. He is so social and has no trouble opening up to people and making new friends.
Jack did pretty good when I left him, it was his first time being in a nursery-type environment, Jacob's too.
We will definitely do this again next year and hopefully Jack will be able to participate. Although, I would like to be in Arts & Crafts.

Our little man has been eating rice cereal this month AND now- Carrots. He loves carrots and slurps them up spoonful by spoonful. He is really ready for food, just smells the food and starts fussing for his.

Aunt Nancy, Granny & Billy's visit

Can you tell the boy is having a blast with his cousin? He really misses him.

Priceless smile, I did not even ask him to smile for me either!

We had a wonderful time with Aunt Nancy. Grandma and Billy the week after the 4th of July this year. We missed Katie, Doug and Joey though. Wish you lived here! James would be over at your house every day. He had so much fun swimming with Billy and playing in the backyard. They ended the evening with some popcorn and a movie.

Casey's Clubhouse

I love hanging out with the fam when I can, it seems these days without any real nanny help, I am doing house stuff in my spare time, but we make do and have some fun, precious moments. We always manage to enjoy he evenings outside eating Popsicles and watching cars go by.

This past weekend we went to the Rainforest Cafe- James' fav place, Casey's Clubhouse and to the Lake off Dove Rd. We had Sonic treats and the evening was so innocent and full of relaxaing water sounds and children laughing.

Gymboree

Jack is having so much fun these days, except he is getting his "i" teeth and back molars- poor thing! Crying and crying and not eating... sleeping ok though, whew... He loves airplanes and calls them 'a-ppei" and points to the sky. He loves remotes and cell phones still and shoes. Jackie is talking more too, says: tank too (thank you), hot dog, puppy, happy, mama, dada, ball and a few more words.

We moved him out of the high chair and put him in a booster now at the table. Jack is starting to use his fork and spoon too and eats well off plates. We go to Gymboree this summer for some indoor fun. I have a ton of great pics, have not gone through them yet! coming soon someday, I hope.

On Sunday, July 6, we got up and drove to Glen Rose. What an interesting trip... Got lost, took us 3 hours to get there and also had a flat tire So, Andy changed the flat and we drove up to Fossil Rim on the doughnut. On the way back, we had to buy a brand new tire! James loved the trip, he sat in the front and got up close and personal with some interesting animals.

4th at Mimi and papa's

We had a blast this Fourth of July. We went to Mimi and papa's for steak and hot dogs. The afternoon started off with a bang- well, a dip , in the pool. James loves the water this year and makes it so much fun. Jacob fell asleep in Papa's arms. We had yummy "snowflakes" as James calls them. Then we watched some fireworks from the balcony up on the second floor of the house.

Poor Jacob had a rough 4 month visit with the shots. Slept almost the rest of the day and into the next week! His head is a little flat, but no concern right now. He loved the pool, on a few Fridays ago (almost 3 weeks ago), we went to the pool on the corner, Jacob liked it- now Jack.... not so much.

Where have I been?

Busy, very busy.. working on fine tuning my manual photography these days and loving it! The colors, quality and artistic sense is so much better than automatic. From now on, you will see all of my photos done manually with my camera. What a new skill that is to learn. It has definitely kept me busy along with the 3 boys and work. So the next few or should I say entries on top of this one will be a look into the past. Grandma's visit, the second recent one, the 4th, trip to Fossil Rim and much more to come for we have been a busy clan these summer days.

Jacob is 4 months!

Our chunky monkey is getting big big big and is way ahead of his game for his age. He squeals so loud, we now call him SCREECH. He still wakes up for a bottle, perhaps will be like oldest bro James and not sleep through night until 9 months- hope not. Jacob has his first swim recently and first long car trip to Glen Rose, TX. He also had 4 shots today and has a little runny nose and cough.

Jacob loves his rainforest bouncer! He is getting a little flatness to his head, have to do more tummy time.

DH got J some fun jibbitz from his favorite show Word World. He barely has ay space left on his crocs, he also got m&m jibbitz on the black market. He wants a gumball one, but I will have to search for that one.

James' First Movie

Daddy took James to see his first movie at the Theater on Saturday, Wall-E the Pixar robot movie. For the most part, he did a great job, even went to the bathroom since he is out of DIAPERS!!! yeahhhhhhh! He got m&m's and popcorn. It also help that Andy took our neighbors kids too, so James could see how they acted in the theater. Overall, it was a good time by all.
